As part of the annual 1st Light Festival, ECC presents the group "Racha Fora" (pronounced Hasha Fora) on November 17, from 7 PM to 8 PM in the community hall. The group consists of Hiroaki Honshuku on flute, Rika Ikeda on violin, Mauricio Andrade on guitar, Rafael Russi on bass, and Fernando Saci on percussion. Hiro, the leader of the group, is a veteran Berklee/NEC musician and is a faculty member at the Longy school of music. His mentors include Dave Holland as well as the jazz pianist/composer George Russell, a leader of the influential "third stream" movement in modern jazz and an influence on Miles Davis' Kind of Blue album.

According to a critic, Rach Fora's music is "at once delicate and propulsive, acoustic and electronic, and fleet of finger and mind". Come and enjoy the exciting music while enriching your mind at the same time. By shaking hands with Hiro, you will also substantially reduce your degree of separation from jazz legends such as Russell, Mingus, Bill Evans, and Eric Dolphy!
