Kiwoong Choi Quartet [ June-1st-Sat 7 PM ]
Oasis Cafe Music Night presents a summer evening of jazz performed by the Kiwoong Choi Quartet on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the ECC Community Center, located at the Korean Church of Boston (PCUSA). Choi, a veteran South Korean drummer, who played for the famous Lee Seung Hwan Band, will be joined by Mike Bono (Guitar), Luke Marantz (Piano) and Osmar Okuma (Bass). Oasis Cafe Music Night is an on-going music series that provides free concerts for the Brookline community sponsored by The Korean Church of Boston. Past Oasis Cafe performances include classical, jazz, and international music. Please come celebrate summer with jazz!
The program includes modern Jazz classics by masters such as Wayne Shorter, Hoagy Carmichael, Joe Henderson and Dave Brubeck (who recently passed away), as well as popular singer Stevie Wonder. It will also feature the Korean folk classic Arirang as arranged by Kiwoong.
