Oasis Cafe : From Bach to Gershwin [August 11, Saturday, 7 pm]
For the upcoming Oasis cafe performance, we are very pleased to have Miho Sato and her friends who will present a luxurious evening of music ranging from J. S. Bach to Gershwin via Puccini and Copland. Miho is a conservatory trained opera singer, and her segment includes every opera lovers favorite O Mio Babbino Caro. (Those of you who follow the British royal family may fondly remember the song from the royal wedding. It was also very memorably used in the movie A Room with a View.)
As Miho describes the program as a Musical Pu Pu Platter, she and her Japanese friends prepared a wide range of music drawing from Baroque chamber music to American theater and art songs, as well as fabulous opera arias and original compositions. The event is free for all music lovers in the neighborhood. Light food will also be provided.
