We are delighted to inaugurate a new season of Oasis Cafe Music Night with this special performance. It is a pleasure to welcome our Brookline neighbors and music enthusiasts to an evening dedicated to the vibrant and evocative soundscapes of summer. The title, "Chromatic Emotions," reflects the rich tapestry of harmonies and feelings that music can evoke, particularly on a warm summer night. Tonight's program is thoughtfully curated to explore this spectrum, presenting a harmonious blend of classical compositions and timeless jazz pieces. The first half of our concert features distinguished pianists exploring a range of expressive classical works. We will hear solo performances and a delightful four-hands piano collaboration, each piece chosen to capture the spirit of the season. The individual artistry of our three pianists promises to bring unique depth and interpretation to these beloved works. Following a brief intermission, we are honored to present a significant musical event: the world premiere of a new piano composition by Joogwang Lim, performed by the composer himself. The evening will then transition into the captivating realm of jazz. An exceptional ensemble, featuring piano, trumpet, guitar, bass, and drums, will offer their interpretations of cherished jazz standards. We invite you to immerse yourselves in the music and hope that "Chromatic Emotions" provides a memorable and enriching experience.
